CHRIS YI
Chris Yi began teaching test preparation classes in 2002. He was one of the first teachers hired by Griffon Prep, and instantly carved his niche in the company by teaching his first class dressed as a ninja. (It's worth noting that his first class was on Halloween). Chris's outgoing personality and edifying sense of humor are how he survived his rather staid math degree from George Mason.
As a teacher, Chris is extremely knowledgable and thorough. When prompted, he will happily throw multiple examples on the blackboard until his students feel comfortable with a concept. He takes great pride in helping students succeed and genuinely enjoys teaching, which translates into an engaging classroom experience.
Currently, Chris teaches math for both the GRE and GMAT exams, the verbal portion for the GMAT exam, and is also an active contributor to the curriculum development for both programs. He has scored both a perfect 800 on the math section of the GRE, and a 760 (99th percentile) on the GMAT (with a 50 on the GMAT math, the highest math score of any Griffon Prep teacher to date).
When Chris is not working out complex math proofs for fun, he can be found haunting hardware stores to supplement his supreme tool collection.
